What was the true purpose of 9/11? Why did the ploters do what they did; what was their ultimate objective for such a devistaging attack?

My opinion:

One word answer--Empire.

More elaboration:

The goal of the ploters of 9/11, ultimatly, was the transformation of the American Democracy into an Anerican Global Empire. An empire based on domination of Global Resources through the use of war, terror, fear and covert actions. Empire for the Elites, and of of the Elites; comprising the Anglo-American Financial Oligarchial structure. The wealth and domination of the Empire would be measured, not in territory under control, but by resources and assets hield by the corporate Anglo-American structure.

I, like Webster Tarpley, believe that the short term goal of 9/11 was a Coup within the American power structure. A take-over of the government from within the givernment. While most coups involve the assination/resignation of the ruling authority; 9/11 produced a transformation/realignment of the US government. A transformation of one that hield a passive and legal foreign policy to that of an agressive and illegal use of US force to achieve Global Dominance.

Therefore, the stakes are high. Empire can not coexist with civil rights and democracy at home. Empires grind down and do away with individual rights in their quest for dominance abroad. Do not think for one moment that we as individuals can prosper and live free as suffering and despair are perpatrated far from home in order to secure our 'prosperity'. It is a lie and a con. As the people of the former Roman Republic learned too late, what goes around will eventually come around. The price of Empire is lost rights, lost liberties, lost humanity and servatude of an Elite who's only concern is greed.

To quote a famous activist: "Get active or get Radioactive."
